Sri Lankan girl’s win Youth Asian Netball Championship

Sri Lanka’s girl’s youth netball team won the Asian title in Hong Kong recently after a lapse of 13 years.

 The Sri Lankan girls ended the tournament unbeaten, winning the Gold Medal when they edged out Malaysia in the finals 53-48.

But at the short breather Malaysia led 24-22. Awards: Gold – Sri Lanka, Silver – Malaysia, Bronze – Singapore; Hong Kong (4), Thailand (5), Brunei (6), Japan (7) and Taipei (8). 

The Sri Lankan team comprised Dilshani Cabral, Dulhari Wannithilake, Ruvini Yatigammana, Gayani Dissanayake, Sachini Rodrigo, Bhashani De Silva, Senani Palika, Thishila Algama, Heshani Perera, Nadee Fernando and Gayayanhalee Amarawansa with Tamara Liyanage  as Head Coach.
