Sri Lankasports.com to re-launch Inter Company Netball Championship

After a break of four years Sri Lankasports.com, Sri Lanka’s first sports website intends to re-launch the Sri Lankasports.com Inter Company Netball Championship in the year 2014.
Sri Lankasports.com Inter Company Netball Championship inaugurated in the year 2006 and was held for four consecutive years and reached to the pinnacle of Inter Company netball in Sri Lanka with its innovative concepts and approach.
It has acclaimed the much awaited Inter Company Netball Championship in the country and with the demand and the requests of the netball enthusiasts in the netball fraternity, Sri Lankasports.com decided to give a life again to this fascinating event which has introduced many new concepts to the game of netball in Sri Lanka in its four year period.
Sri Lankasports.com Inter Company Netball Championship has introduced seven-a-side rugby format (play for Cup/Plate/Bowl/Shield in 7-1-7 minute match duration) to the game of netball in Sri Lanka at the inaugural Championship in 2006 and continued to add more features during the next three years up to 2009.
Introduction of ‘power play’ concept to the game of netball in Sri Lanka also one of the new features introduced at the event and also Sri Lankasports.com Inter Company Netball Championship has created history by becoming the first ever netball tournament to be held completely in an indoor stadium when it was held at the Sri Lanka Youth Indoor Stadium in Maharagama and Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in 2007, 2008 and 2009 respectively.
In 2013 Sri lankasports.com launched another netball tournament for the Banking Sector in Sri Lanka which will also went in to the history by being the first event netball event Sri Lanka covered (live to tape) and telecasted by a television station (CSN) fully.
The total number of teams for the event will be restricted for 24 and intend conducting a Mixed Netball Category as well in this year’s event. It is pertinent to mention that Sri Lankasports.com has a successful history of organising special sporting events of this nature and all those events happened to be the first of its kind in Sri Lanka.
They have organised Sri Lanka’s first ever under 19 Schools’ Futsal event (Sri Lankasports.com Futsal Challenge) under the direction of Football Federation of Sri Lanka and The Sri Lanka Schools’ Football Association for two consecutive years.
Sri Lankasports.com also responsible in organising the Sri Lanka’s first ever day-night Inter Club Beach football tournament. They also created history by organising the first ever U15 Inter school Handball Championship in Sri Lanka in 2012.
