Srilankasports.com to organise interbank netball tournament

Sri Lanka’s first sports website www.srilankasports.com organises a Netball tournament for the banking sector of Sri Lanka, Sri Lankasports.com interbank Netball Championship 2013 which is to be held on 4 May 2013, at St. Joseph’s College indoor stadium, Colombo 10.

Top teams representing prestigious banks in Sri Lanka comprise of Sri Lankan national players who are expected to take part in the event.

Sri Lankasports.com intends to conduct this tournament annually, in a carnival atmosphere with DJ Music and on location promotions, where the entire family can enjoy the game of Netball.

Sri Lankasports.com has a successful history of organising special sporting events of this nature and all the events taken place are happened to be the first of its kind in Sri Lanka.

The website inaugurated an intercompany Netball Tournament in 2006, which is being conducted consecutively since then for the past four years, with the participation of top companied in the corporate sector.

The tournament was conducted in a specially designed format similar to seven a side rugby and introduced the concept of ‘Power Play’ to the game of netball in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lankasports.com organised Sri Lanka’s first ever under 19 Schools’ Futsal event (Sri Lankasports.com Futsal Challenge) under the direction of the Football Federation of Sri Lanka and The Sri Lanka Schools’ Football association for two consecutive years.

They were also responsible in organising Sri Lanka’s first ever day-night interclub beach football tournament for Ran FM, with the support of the Football Federation of Sri Lanka.

Apart from that, they created history by organising the first ever under 15 inter-school Handball Championship in Sri Lanka in 2012 with Sri Lanka School’s Handball Association
