Stallions conduct U-14 seven-a-side tournament in Sabaragamuwa

Imbulana Maha Vidyalaya and Pallekanugala Maha Vidyalaya respectively won the boys and girls under-14 Sabaragamuwa Schools Rugby Tournament that was conducted at Ruwanwella Public Grounds on 2 April 2014.

Organised by Sabaragamuwa Stallions, the tournament witnessed 32 girls and boys teams participate in tournaments played in the under-12 category in addition to the under-14 and also included teams representing schools from the Kegalle District. All the matches were refereed by Sabaragamuwa referees. The boys team played seven-a-side whilst girls team played 10-a-side. This is the 3rd tournament organised by Sabaragamuwa Stallions with the collaboration of Sabaragamuwa Provincial Union conducted this year. Champion: Pallekanugala KV ‘A’ Runners-up: Dehiowita NC U-12 Girls Champion: Pallekanugala KV Runners up: St. Mary’s College, Yatiyanthota Sabaragamuwa Stallions is directed by NSports which is a national franchise of Sri Lanka’s elite Rugby 7s competition, the Carlton Rugby 7s. The team emerged as champions of the 2013 Colombo leg of the tournament. The franchise is owned by Royal Ceramics PLC.
