Sri Lanka’s present Sevens skipper Fazil Marija, Sevens sensation Srinath Sooriyabandara and Asian Sevens player of the series for Sri Lanka Anurudha Wilwara will be missing from the final leg of the Asian Sevens Series, which will take place in Beijing , China on 18 and 19 October.
According to sources, Fazil is attending to an urgent family matter in Australia after obtaining written permission from the Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union (SLRFU).
The China Sevens will be the last of the Asian Sevens Series this year.
Action will take place in both the men’s and women’s segments.
The Sri Lankan men will meet Malaysia and Kazakhstan in the group stages, while the women’s outfit, which did well on the final day of the Hong Kong Asian Sevens stopover, are out to do their best.
