STC Girls High School’s Sethmi and Dikmina win Bronze at 15th International Milo Karate Championship

De Silva Sethmi Sankalani and Dikmina Dulanji of St Thomas’ Girls High School Matara, representing Sri Lanka, won bronze medals at the 15th International Milo Open Karate Championship held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from the 7 to 9 June. Sethmi Sankalani won bronze in the Kata, Kumthe and team events for girls 14-15 years while Dikmina Dulanji was awarded the bronze medal for the Kata event for girls 12-13 years. Eight girls from St Thomas’ Girls High School Matara represented the country at this tournament. Mallkini Upadya, Malisha Senuri, Dikmina Dulanji competed in the Kata, Kumthe and team events for girls between 12-13 years while Chamodya Shehani, Pubudi Dewmini and Parami Punsara competed in the Kata and Kumthe events in the same age group. Sethmi Sankalani competed in the Kata, Kumthe and team events for girls between 14-15 years while Oshani Jayasekera competed in the Kata and Kumthe events for girls 16-17 years.
