Proceeds in aid of the Senior Quadrangle Classroom Block Project and Staff Trust Fund
STC prides itself on having one of the most picturesque school campuses in the country and also boasts of some of the most up to date facilities for the pursuit of excellence in academics, sports and other extra-curricular activities. The 2014 Triathlon will be a mega event that will bring together the school boys, teachers, parents, old boys and well-wishers to support the fund raising of the Senior Quadrangle Classroom Block Project and the Staff Trust Fund.
The event is scheduled to commence at 6 a.m. on 25 January from the Bishops College pool and Ladies College pool with participants having to run up to Havelock Park and move on to cycling from Havelock Park to the College Big Club Grounds.
The Senior Quadrangle Project will be constructed in three phases and the first phase has already commenced with the total project estimated at to cost Rs. 250 million.
The Senior Quadrangle Building Project is a project to build a new classroom complex within the campus. The project will be implemented in four stages with a total cost of Rs. 250 million. The new complex will consist of 43 classrooms and other facilities to accommodate new courses planned to be offered in the college.
The 1st phase of the project is currently underway and is expected to be completed in May 2014. The construction of the 1st phase was made possible by a generous donation of Rs. 80 million by a distinguished Old Boy of College via the Gnanam Trust.
The Teachers Trust Fund is a trust fund that will be set up after the Thomian Triathlon 2014 by a committee appointed by the Warden. The fund will look into the welfare and needs of teachers who are serving and have served the college. The Thomian Triathlon 2014 will support the trust by donating 25% of the proceedings collected via the event to set-up the fund.
