Cricket star Andrew Symonds is set to follow in the footsteps of former Australia teammate Brett Lee and appear in a Bollywood film.

The semi-retired all-rounder will make his silver screen debut in the film Patiala House alongside former cricketers Wasim Akram, Nasser Hussain, Graham Gooch, and Herschelle Gibb according to The Age.

His continued involvement with the subcontinent comes after he was recently purchased for $850,000 by the Mumbai Indians in the IPL auction and despite a run in in 2008 with India spinner Harbhajan Singh who he accused of racially villifying him.

Symonds, since departing the international arena has even shunned state cricket in favour of spending more time on his favourite past-time - fishing.
