t-sips, a product of Expolanka Teas, announced their involvement with the Sri Lanka Schools National Rowing Championship 2013. This is the second year in which the Championship is held and the second consecutive sponsorship of the event for t-sips.
This year’s Championship will see participation from 16 schools and is said to attract many spectators and athletes as the main rowing event in the country. Events will be held under the classification of single scull, double scull, pairs and coxed fours and will be held on the 12, 13 and 14 of September at the Colombo Rowing Club.
t-sips is no stranger to the sport of rowing and have continuously taken steps towards enhancing and promoting the sport. Last year alone, apart from spearheading the inaugural Sri Lanka Schools National Rowing Championship, t-sips brought down Olympic Gold Medallist in rowing, Mahe Drysdale to inspire oarsmen and women in the country.
“Rowing in Sri Lanka is an uncluttered sport that has potential to win international recognition provided it has the right partner to support it. With rowing we are able to reach an audience that is extremely passionate about their sport and that passion is felt in the partnership we share. Through the sponsorship of the sport, we want to foster a competitive rowing environment and encourage the development of good sportsmanship and art of team work,” said Expolanka Teas General Manager Inthikab Naufal.
Fostering and supporting rowing, t-sips have been sponsoring the Royal-Thomian Regatta for three consecutive years and is the proud sponsor of the Royal College rowing team since 2009. On the international platform, t-sips have sponsored events such as Far East Asian Rowing Association Championship (FEARA) which was held in Sri Lanka.
