Textured Jersey, Softlogic advance to finals of Elephant-Lemonade Cup MCA ‘D’ division 50-overs Leag

Textured Jersey and Softlogic, both new comers to the Elephant-Lemonade Cup MCA ‘D’ division 50-overs League tournament 2012, advanced to the Final of the ongoing tournament, winning their semi-finals played over the week-end.

On the Poya Day, sterling innings by Nuwan Alahakoon (98 runs in 127 balls, inclusive of 12 fours and 2 sixes) guided Textured Jersey to a convincing 28 –runs win over Mobitel.

Allahakoon was associated in two productive partnerships, 110-runs for the second wicket with Tharaka Dinesh (38) and 65 runs for the third wicket with Kosala Jayasekera (45).

Rangeeth Peiris put the finishing touches with a splendid 56 runs to propelle textured Jersey to a commanding 271 for 7 in 50 overs.

Inform  batsman, Nalin Vimukthi spear headed the Mobitel run-chase with a workman –like 60 runs, but there was no rear-guard to hold the fort, as they fell to  243 all out, in the last over.

The match winning bowlers for Textured Jersey were, Kosala Jayasekera,   Tharaka Dinesh and T. Devinda (all with identical bowling figures of 2 for 35 a piece.)

On Sunday, Softligoc’s .Ishara Wickramasinghe (5 for 24 in 5.1 overs)

took his tally of wickets to 20 in  05 matches, with his  2nd /05 wickets haul, as sent Hayley’s (all  out for 104 in 31.1 overs) crashing to a humiliating 94 runs defeat.

Textured Jersey beat Mobitel by 28 runs.

2nd Semi-Final, Sunday, 11 December, MCA Grounds

Softlogic beat Hayleys Group RC by 96 runs.

Softlogic sent into bat, 200 all out in 48.4 overs.  ( Ishara Wickramasinghe 35,  S. Adikari  48,  R. Derling 41,  M. Deepal 4/30,  Damith Ratnayake 3/25)

Hayleys: 104 all out in 31.1 overs. (Damith Ratnayake 25,  P. Fernando 25,  R. Derling 2/35,  Ishara Wickramasinghe  5/24)

Final

The Final between Textured Jersey and Softlogic will take place, this Sunday, 18 December at the MCA grounds, commencing 10a.m.
