Daniel Ricciardo, the Australian racing driver currently competing in Formula One for Scuderia Toro Rosso, is staying at The Kingsbury to add heat to the already simmering hot topic of the Colombo Night Race. He was the winner of the British Formula Three Championship in the year 2009. After Mark Webber announced his retirement from Formula 1, Ricciardo was confirmed as his replacement at Red Bull for 2014. He will partner Sebastian Vettel who is the current world champion.
Ricciardo arrived at The Kingsbury on 12 December and is currently staying at the hotel along with his entire Red Bull Racing team and mechanics crew. Having won two international awards, namely the ‘World Luxury Hotel’ award and the ‘Wellness and Spa’ certificate within just a year of beginning its operations in the city, The Kingsbury is popular for its customised service. The racing celebrity seems to already be enjoying his time in the city with The Kingsbury’s unparalleled, hospitality and exceptional service.
This is the first time ever an F1 car will run in Sri Lanka and its likely to be one of the largest events the country has ever seen with expected crowds of up to 100,000 looking to see and hear the Infiniti Red Bull Racing showcar on a street circuit in downtown Colombo at the Colombo Night Race.
The weekend is billed to be an exciting, adrenaline ride of a rush. Be there at The Kingsbury to catch the action live.
