The annual Thomian Inter-Collegiate Soft Ball Cricket Sixes, organised by the STC Mount Lavinia Class of 1990 for the school’s Old Boys, will be held on 4 October at the NCC Grounds from 8 a.m.
The Cricket Sixes is a greatly-anticipated event among all former Thomians and has become hugely successful. The past six competitions attracted 32 Old Boy teams, with Class Groups ranging from 1970 to 2009, including Thomians from Mt. Lavinia, Prep - Kollupitiya, Guruthalawa and Bandarawela. In total the event attracts more than 2,000 Old Boys, family members, well-wishers and other spectators.
Similar to previous years’ festivities, a carnival-like atmosphere will prevail with entertainment being provided in true Thomian spirit. A live band will serve up music throughout the day, complementing the Papare outfits spread across the grounds. There will also be delicious food and spirits on offer, making the event, as usual, a great occasion for the whole family.
Like in the last edition, the Senior Thomian Icons will play for the Grand Masters Trophy and the rest for the Class of 90 Challenge Trophy.
The organisers may be able to accommodate a few more teams. Call Vassa on 0773221245 or Yai on 077777877 to register.
