Three Kandyan schools to be promoted to Singer League IA in 2018

Three top Kandy schools will be promoted to Division IA of the Singer League in 2018 based on their performances in 2017. 

St. Anthony’s College, Dharmaraja College and Kingswood College will stay on top while Science College and Prince of Wales College will dropped down to the ‘B’ Division. Science will be demoted after six long years in the top division. Kingswood, who did not want to take up the top division this year due to the last-minute announcement of the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Association, will be in the top tier next year. Kingswood was the first school in the country to offer rugby to its students. 

Royal College, Trinity College, St. Joseph’s College, S. Thomas’ College, St. Anthony’s College, Kingswood College, Isipathana College, Wesley College, St. Peter’s College, Zahira College, Dharmaraja College and D.S. Senanayake College will play in the top division with the two groups to be announced. (SJ)
