Thurstan kicks off 2014 school rugby season on 21 March in Kandy

Thurstan College Colombo will kick off the 2014 school rugby season on 21 March in Kandy when they play St. Sylvester’s College at Bogambara Stadium with kick off at 4:30 p.m.
Thurstan will be playing in Group 1 in Segment B this year. This year Thurstan is led by 4th year coloursman Janith Deniyage, a versatile player who will occupy the fly half position operating from the base.
His deputy is Senura Kalanaka, another 4th year coloursman who will lead the forwards at No. 8. Mohamed Ali Bohari, (4th year), Tilan Perera (3rd year) and Sukitha Liyanage (3rd year) will add experienced to the side. Thurstan is coached by Sunanda Fernanndo and is assisted by Nilantha Perera as the assistant coach/trainer.
With Thurstan Rugby Club being reviewed to support Thurstan Rugby, and many old boys coming forward in support, an improved performance can be expected this year from Thurstan.
