Travel Trade 7-a-side soccer kicks off on Sunday

The fourth Traveller Global Ltd. sponsored Travel Trade Sports Club Annual Seven-a-side Soccer Tournament 2016 will be held this Sunday, 21 August, at the Edward Henry Pedris Stadium commencing 9 am.

As at Wednesday, the following 10 teams have confirmed their participation: Sponsor Traveller Global, Classic Travels, Cinnamon Red, Cinnamon Grand, Luxe Asia, Mackinnons Travels, Paradise Beach Hotel, Negombo, The Kingsbury, Walkers Tours & Hotel J Negombo.

The 2015 double winner, SriLankan Airlines, is expected to participate. Its “A” & “B” teams met each other in last year’s “Cup” final; the “Plate” was won by Traveller Global and the “Bowl” was won by Mermaid Hotel & Club, Kalutara.

The three special awards on offer are for the Most Outstanding Player, Most Promising Player and the Most Up and Coming Player. 

This will be the fourth event conducted by the TTSC (celebrating their 40th anniversary) having earlier completed carom, archery and the bowling. 

Up next will be the Badminton and Table Tennis Tournaments on fourth September at S. Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia Indoor Stadium and the Softball Cricket ‘Sixes’ on 11 September at Shalika Grounds.
