The Inter-School Milo knockout rugby encounter will kick off this Sunday (6) when Isipathana lock horns with unpredictable Science College at Royal Sports Complex. On the following day, traditional Bradby Shield rivals, Trinity and Royal will clash in the second semi-final encounter at the same venue. Isipathana, unbeaten so far in the season and coached by Former Sri Lanka seven captain Niloufer Ibrahim, look set for the kill in this game and it will be a daunting task for the Mount Lavinia lads to get the better of the Havelock Park boys. Isipathana will be all out to continue their unbeaten run and end the season on a top note with only two games to go. Isipathana, a well-balanced side with a mobile set of forwards with some speedy three quarters, should have the game under their way. In the second semi-final, both Trinity and Royal will be meeting for the third time this season apart from the two legs of their traditional Bradby Shield encounter. Trinity, having a very steady season led by fly half and their playmaker Tharinda Ratwatte, hold the edge. They won all trophies on offer this season other than the League where they ended second to Isipathana. They lost to the Havelock park lads 21-17. Trinity having won the Bradby, Canon De Seram Trophy and Dennis Perera Trophy have a very balanced outfit. Coached by Neil Foote, who will be doing his last two games for Trinity, the boys will be all out to give their best for their coach for a perfect send off after a four year stint with Trinity. The New Zealander already won more than 50 games for Trinity will be all out to sign off with the President’s Trophy win. While Royal, an improved side, will need their three quarters to get their act together in order to get the better of the “Lions”.
