Trinity College and Mahamaya were outstanding at the Kandy District Kids, Junior Athletic Championship and Senior Relay Championship organised by the Kandy District Athletic Association which concluded at the Bogambara Stadium, Kandy.
This event only had individual events instead of team events. Nearly 3,500 athletes participated with 180 events taking place in the two-day meet which even needed to beat the rain.
Trinity College boys were in great form winning the Senior Relay Championship accumulating 76 points, with St. Sylvester’s College ending second with 27 points.
St. Anthony’s College Katugastota won the Junior Athletic Championship with 69 points edging out their traditional rivals Trinity who ended on number two position with 61 points. Mahamaya College ended as the Champions in both Senior Relay and Junior Athletic Champions.
