IN-6The Thomians, who lost out to Wesley, will come out with more fire when they meet the unbeaten Trinitians in their annual encounter played for the Canon de Saram Trophy which will take place today at Longdon Place.

Kick-off is scheduled at 4.15 p.m.

Trinity, under their number eight Nathan Yee, performed reasonably well to remain unbeaten so far with the real test yet to come their way. They beat Wesley and Science, winning both by half a century plus scores. Their third encounter against Zahira was no pushover as they needed to fire on all cylinders to pull off a dramatic 34-26 win at Maradana. This is the fourth time the outfit will travel down to Colombo.

Anuk Boyagoda is the playmaker of the outfit, playing from the base of the scrum. Dange, Bandaranayake and Wijesuriya will all need to play a major role to bring the cup back to Kandy.

The Thomians are led by Sri Lanka Youth skipper Naveen Henakankanamage  who is an outstanding player on the wing. Given the ball, he will create space and find the try line. They also have some class acts in their camp such as Dion Dias and Mayon Gunathilake who could run circles given the space and the ball at the correct time.

Referee – Rohan Fernando (SJ)
