Two of Trinity College’s top cricketers, Thisuru Dilshan and Hasitha Boyagoda, both received the highest honour a sportsman from the school can achieve when they were presented a Lion in cricket at their school assembly recently.
Both Boyagoda and Dilshan represented Sri Lanka at the 2016 Youth Cricket World Cup which took place in Australia.
Boyagoda, who was the Deputy Skipper of the Trinity outfit last year, scored 1,000 runs in his final school season while Dilshan with his medium fast bowling took over 100 wickets for the upcountry school. Trevon Weerasuriya, Hasintha Jayasuriya, Banugopan Thiyagaraja and Vumkthi Nethmal all won colours.
The Trinity side was coach by one of the school’s Old Boys and former cricketers Kavinda Jayasuriya.
