TTSC Beach Tag Rugby Championship to begin tomorrow

Twelve teams will participate in the third Travel Trade Sports Club (TTSC) Beach Tag Rugby Championships 2016, which will be held on Saturday at the Mount Lavinia Hotel, Paradise Beach stretch, commencing at 9.00 a.m. 

This flamboyant event, which was revived after one year, is sponsored by Walkers Tours for the third year and is hosted by the Mount Lavinia Hotel Group for the same number of years. 

The teams in the fray are 2014 joint winners Cinnamon Grand ‘A’ and Walkers Tours ‘A’ along with their ‘B’ teams, SriLankan Airlines, Hemas Travels, George Steuarts Travels, Classic Travels ‘A’ and ‘B’, Jetwing Travels , Green Holidays and newcomers to the TTSC, Ozo Hotel.

The tournament will be conducted for the Cup, Plate and Bowl and special awards will be presented for the Best Player in all three categories. . 

Special emphasis falls on this year’s tournament as TTSC is celebrating its 40th anniversary and the incumbent President Prabath Harshakumar is from Walkers Tours.
