Action from Isipathana and St. Joseph’s game   By Shamseer Jaleel The Singer Under 20 schools league will see five of its encounters being worked off starting on 24 April. The pick of the encounters will be the one between an unbeaten Trinity outfit and tournament dark horses Science College at Mount Lavinia next Sunday. Trinity will be playing in their last game before their Bradby Shield encounter. They will lock horns with a Science outfit which has so far only lost to Royal. The Trinity three quarters looks solid with some powerful runners such as Saranga Gunatileka and Sachith Dissanayake. Their forwards are led by skipper Isuru Rangala and cracking Number 8 Rukshan Dhammapala. This encounter will be controlled by referee Dinka Peris. On 24 April defending league champions Isipathana will be up against the Peterites at Longdon Place. The Green Shirts, led by National Youth Player Omalka Gunaratne, look unstoppable and hold a clear edge over their opponents who have lacked consistency in their performances this year. Peterite playmaker Kevin Dixon will be making a comeback for this encounter. Dharmapala Nimal will referee the match. On 25 April there will be three matches up for decision. Unbeaten Royal will be warming up for the Bradby Shield when they confront S. Thomas’ Mount Lavinia at Havelock Park. This encounter will be played for the Michael Gunaratne Trophy. Though Royal looks good on paper, the lads from Mount Lavinia will be eager to come up with a good display. Leading referee Aruna Rankothge will be in charge of action. On the same day the Joes will host Kingswood with the Darley road school holding a clear edge with a mobile unit. Gamini Indrasena will referee this game. Up in Kandy, St. Anthony’s Katugastota will host the Rajans with both teams hoping to secure top position and avoid finishing last in their respective groups. Pradeep Fernando will be tasked with controlling action out in the middle. The encounter between Wesley College and CWW Kanangara, which was scheduled to be played on 23 April at Longdon Place, will now be played on 2 May at the same venue.
