Under 19 hockey nationals begin today

The annual girls’ and boys’ Under 19 schools hockey nationals, organised by the Sri Lanka Schools Hockey Association, will be worked off from today until 31 May at the Sports Ministry Astroturf and the hockey grounds of Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya in Colombo. 

The defending champions in the girls’ category are Matale Schools with Colombo ‘Reds’ last year’s runners-up.

The other participating teams are Colombo ‘Blues’, Kandy ‘Whites’ and ‘Blues’, Kalutara Schools, Gampaha Schools and Badulla Schools.
