The Sri Lanka Under-19 led by Captain Kusal Mendis left to United Arab Emirates to participate in the ICC Under 19 World Cup. Sri Lanka figuring in Group D will play the first match against New Zealand in Sharjah on 14 February. India is the defending champions of U19 World Cup. The Sri Lankan squad comprises Kusal Mendis (c/wk), Hashan Dumindu, Anuk Fernando, Lakshan Jayasinghe, Priyamal Perera, Hashen Ramanayake, Thilaksha Sumanasiri, Hashan Vimarshana, Minod Bhanuka (wk), Binura Fernando, Kavindu Kulasekara, Ramesh Mendis, Harsha Rajapaksha, Sadeera Samarawickrama and A.K. Tyronne.
