Union Assurance joins hands with Colombo Colts Cricket Club again

Colombo Colts Cricket Club President Nishantha Ranatunge and Union Assurance Director/CEO Dirk Pereira Hailed as a force of national unity, cricket is not considered just a sport but a way of life. Union Assurance (UA), the country’s trusted insurance service provider has therefore taken steps to support the Colombo Colts Cricket Club, one of the oldest and first-class cricket clubs in the country. Known as the “Invincible Colts CC”, the club housed the best English cricketers in olden Ceylon, and has proved that others are no match to it in the cricketing club landscape today. While having produced many talented cricketers renowned internationally for their skill, the present team also boasts of great potential. The team is led by the Sri Lankan National Captain and member of the Colts Angelo Mathews, Vice-Captain Nuwan Kulasekara and backed by nine other excellent sportsmen with great potential. “The Colts Club is delighted to welcome Union Assurance as the club’s team sponsor and we look forward to a long and mutually beneficial association with them,” said Nishantha Ranatunge, President of the Colombo Colts Cricket Club. “It gives local clubs great strength when organisations step up to support young talent and we would like to invite more enterprises to join us and nurture sport to greater heights,” he added.

President and Ex-co members of Colts Cricket Club and the management of Union Assurance UA’s association with the sport has come in many forms, and includes many great sportsmen being part of the workforce of the organisation during its tenure of 27 years in operation. This partnership with Colts Cricket Club will exist on the objective of creating a better tomorrow via UA’s CSR platform which includes awareness on Good Health Habits. The UA vision is to use the sport in its communication, to create great awareness on this subject, making it viral and widespread while ultimately aiming to become a part of positive social change as a ‘trusted’ insurance provider to the nation “We are delighted to be associated with the Colombo Colts Cricket Club- it is an excellent team and we look forward to supporting and fostering new talent in the country.
