Victory Sports Club Kandana reunion on Sunday

Victory Sports Club from Kandana is organising a reunion of all past cricketers who had represented the club on 6 April at the BOI Sports Association Grounds. Victory Sports Club Kandana was founded by Rehan Goonawardena in 1974 as Uluporanuwa Sports Club and was renamed Victory Sports Club in 1979 as a registered club. After Rehan Goonawardana’s tenure, Reshan Goonawardana took over the responsibilities of running the club followed by Anura Perera. Victory sports club had the most successful seasons under Anura Perera, gaining many victories and trophies during the period 1979 to 1985. In order to celebrate 40 years, all living members of Victory Sports Kandana will be reunited with full day celebrations including a key cricket match with the FTZ cricket team and limited over exhibition cricket matches for the family members. The key match will be captained by Erick Anandappa associated by Sunanda Withana. “This will be great chance to catch up with all mates from days gone by,” said Anura Perera, the main organiser of this event which is set to be memorable.
