Vinod Weerasinghe defends Victoria Junior Championship 2017

The Victoria Golf and Country Resort (VGCR) conducted its Junior Championship 2017 recently with more than 70 youngsters teeing off for honours at the annual board event. 

There were mixed weather conditions of both showers and sunshine falling on the greens and fairways of the VGCR which was perfect for a game of golf. The Junior Championship organised by the VGCR began in 1999 with Amrit De Soysa winning the first trophy on offer. 

The Junior Championship was well-attended and won by Vinod Weerasinghe who walked away with the overall championship. The sponsors of the Victoria Junior Championship were Litro Gas Lanka Ltd, Kiddies and Toys International, Elephant House Beverages and Sun Aqua Water.
