London,(ANI): Australian opener David Warner wants Australia to replace England as the world’s No1 Test nation by next year’s Ashes.
“As [captain] Michael Clarke said the other day after the game, celebrate your win, but at the end of the day we want to try to beat the second team in the world 4-0,” Express.co.uk quoted Warner, as saying.
“Where we are at the moment, our goal is to become No1 again by the next Ashes in 2013. If we can keep working towards that, our goals will be achieved,” he added.
Warner set Australia up for victory in the third Test with a stunning innings of 180, his century coming in 69 balls, the joint-fourth fastest in Test history.
