New Delhi (IANS): Cricketers’ almanac Wisden is all set to launch its India edition that will have a comprehensive coverage of Indian cricket down to its lowest level.

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has been made president of its editorial board.

“It’s great to see Wisden in India, they are a powerhouse in the field of cricket. Wisden India will not be just an almanac, there will be a web portal, games, apps and even a television channel somewhere down the line,” he said.

The edition will be launched in collaboration with FidelisWorld, who are also involved in setting up Bhaichung Bhutia’s club United Sikkim that plays in I-League.

Anand Krishnan, Executive Chairman of FidelisWorld said their attempt will be to leverage diverse forms of media to reach the Indian cricket consumer.

“This is a proud moment in the young history of FidelisWorld, to bring the authority of Cricket to the most passionate fans of the sport. Wisden India will, no doubt, evolve to become the single source for news, views, and entertainment in the field of cricket,” he said.

“The key objective for Wisden India will be to build its product presence in the market through an integrated approach.”
