WPRFU to launch Sinhala translation of WADA Anti-Doping Guidelines

By Shamseer Jaleel In a timely move, the Western Province Rugby Football Union (WPRFU) will launch the Sinhala translation of the WADA Anti-Doping Guidelines shortly. Sri Lanka rugby has seen a series of doping scandals ranging from school players to club and national players, the latest being at the Asian 5 nations which concluded in Sri Lanka. WPRFU President Nazeem Mohamed told the Daily FT: “We believe the lack of awareness among the players and coaches is one of the major problems. The WPRFU has worked closely with the University of Moratuwa in translating the literature. We have also received Ministry of Sport – Sports Medicine Unit blessing and their endorsement for this booklet. This booklet will be published shortly and will be made available to schools, clubs, provincial unions and national players free of charge.”
