Yamaha powered AmCham golf 2015 hosts top performers

Yamaha, the iconic Japanese name in performance motorcycles, water sports craft and golf carts, sponsored the 16th AmCham Golf Tournament, held on 22 August at the Royal Golf Club (RCGC).

Building on last year’s success, the high profile fixture on the golfing calendar in Sri Lanka brought together 180 entrants, including top-seeded players, who will vie for the top slots in each category for a chance to be crowned tournament champ.

The overall winner of the tournament (nett) was Y. Sinha with 45 points, while Amrith De Soyza, with 36 points, was awarded the overall winner (gross). Taking top honours in the ladies category was Katty Twenbold, while Sharon Hall took the runner up spot.

Awards for the ‘longest drive’ and ‘nearest to the pin’ were won by D. Serasinghe (men) and Kumari Herath (women), and Harin Udeshi (men) and Sharon Hal (women), respectively.

A notable feature at the event was the Yamaha Waverunner VX Cruiser as well as Yamaha 6-seater Golf Cart, which was on display. 

On a special note, part of the proceeds of the tournament will be donated to a RCGC nominated charity by AmCham.
