Yasiru’s match bag of 12 helps Rahula overcome Piliyandala Central by 7 wickets

De Silva Right arm off spin bowler Yasiru Hewanadugala’s match bag of twelve wickets helped Rahula College Matara register a seven wicket win against Piliyandala Central College on 8 January. The under 19 division two tournament match was played at the Piliyandala Central College grounds. Batting first, Piliyandala Central were restricted to 146 runs. Anuj Koliyet scored 56 runs while Yasiru Hewanadugala 4/50 and Harsha Rajapkse 3/29 shared the wickets.

Piliyandala Centra’s Heshan Madhusanka and Tharanga Amilendra captured three wickets each to keep the Rahula batsman at bay. Rahula ended their innings with only a 21 run lead. In their second innings the home team were spun out for 112 by Yasiru who captured eight wickets for 47 runs. Dhanushka Naveen was unbeaten on 22. With 91 runs needed, Rahula won the game by seven wickets. Thilina Mannage and Harsha Rajapakse were unbeaten on 36 and 29 respectively at close of play. Yasiru Hewanadugala has captured sixty wickets in the nine outings this season.
