New Delhi (IANS): Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh Monday launched his dream project, state-of-the-art training centres for budding cricketers at Pathways Schools in Noida, Balliawas and Aravali in Haryana’s Gurgaon district.
The centres will be called Yuvraj Singh Centre for Excellence and will provide both outdoor and indoor training facilities to budding players. They will also appoint highly skilled coaches.
The three centres will be the National Capital Region’s first ever cricketing academy that offers indoor facilities like bowling machines, swimming pool and gym.
The centres will be open to the students as well as the general public.
Speaking at the event, Yuvraj said: ‘I am very excited to see my dream project Yuvraj Singh Centre of Excellence finally becoming a reality with the support of Pathways Schools. We assure to provide world class facilities to groom talent in the right direction. I promise my commitment to this project and to monitor the progress of the kids myself.’
‘I am glad to set up such an endeavour for the budding talent pool in India. I wish, as a kid I had got my training at such a place and it would have been tough to get me out of the nets,’ he added.
Speaking of the initiative, Praveen Jain, one of the directors of Pathways Schools, said: ‘A few months back we had a common vision and a collective goal to create something unique at the Pathways.’
The centre will bring some of the most respected and established names from the Indian and the international cricket for coaching.
