Zahira College G90 stages Sports Festival 2015

ZAHIRA College Colombo’s Group of 90 (G90) held their Sports Festival 2015 for the ninth consecutive year at the college grounds recently.

The intention of organising a festival of this nature was primarily to foster goodwill among Old Boys and generate funds for the development of college infrastructure and aid in students’ education and extracurricular activities.

The organising committee of this festival had lined up several events for Old Boys and present students. This year too they organised a six-a-side softball cricket tournament, a six-a-side soccer tournament, a tag rugby tournament and an exhibition soccer match between Sri Lankan Legends and Zahira Legends.

The Chief Guest of the event was former College Principal Deshamanya Prof. M.T.A. Furkhan. Zahira College’s present Principal Trizvi Marikkar, Board of Governors Secretary Rizvi Niyas, G90 President M.R.M. Razak, Project Chairman Malik Hannan, Secretary N.M. Shiraz, Member of the Board of Governors Alavi Mukthar, the event’s main sponsor Banu Man Power Consultants in Sri Lanka’s Managing Partner Mohamed Naizer, Prefect of Games Muhiseen Ariff and Vice Principal M.T.A. Rauff presented trophies, medals and certificates to the teams.
