Past 1st XI Cricketers’ Association of Zahira College is all set to launch its Alma Mater’s 125th year celebration in style with its 2nd Annual Cricket Encounter scheduled to be played on Sunday 24 July at the college grounds. The uniquely designed event has attracted more than 150 past cricketers to share their dressing room with their former team mates, enabling them to bring back the best memories.
Whilst this encounter is designed to promote fellowship of the cricket fraternity of the old boys, and there is fair representation of all age groups spanning from teams which represented college in the ’60s, ’80’s and ’90s. It gets highly competitive with the inclusion of youngsters representing almost all the teams post year 2000.
The organising team led by President Mazhar Zuhair and Project Chairman Basheer Bongso have left no stone unturned in order to make this event a colorful and a successful one. PCA concluded the Captains Meeting while launching their 16 team jerseys and the Champions Challenge Trophy is sponsored by Mobil Lubricants.
The organising committee along with Zahira College Cricket Committee invites all cricket lovers to come and watch some of the best stars that Zahira produced which includes cricketers from the elite club of 1,000 runs/100 wickets such as M.M.K. Namiz, M.M.M. Amanulla, M.S. Sampan, Isham Ghouse, Imraz Rafi, Nisky Ahamed, Thusitha Ananda and many more.
