The Zahira Hockey Committee organised an under 20 all island inter school seven a side hockey tournament recently at the college grounds as an initiative to commemorate the 120 years of excellence of Zahira College. Zahira College is also organising a series of events to commemorate the anniversary in grand style.

Ananda College, Bandaranayaka College Gampaha, Dharmaraja College Kandy, DS Senanayaka College, Joseph Vaz College Wennappuwa, Maristella College Negombo, Nalanda College, Royal College, St. Aloysious College Galle, St. Peter’s College, St. Sylvester College Kandy, S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia, Thomas’s College, Matale, Wesley College, Zahira College and Zahira College, Matale are the schools had took part in the tournament. Sri Lanka Hockey Federation Vice President P. Vishwandan, Browns Group General Manger Vishwa Lokugamage, ITN Director Hashim Omar, Principal M.H.M Jiffry, Mindventures Director Imran Hashim and Board of Governor Alavi Mukthar distributed prizes to the winners.
