Zahira Rugby Carnival 2012 celebrates 120 years of college excellence

The Zahira College Old Boys’ Rugby Association (ZOBRA) organised the ‘Zahira Rugby Carnival 2012’ held at the Zahira College Grounds recently, in celebration of 120 years of college excellence. The Science College won the champion cup, beating the Ananda College 33-0 in the final match.

The Chief Guest at the event was Sri Lanka Freedom Party Colombo District Organiser and Old Zahirian Sports Club Rugby Committee Former Chairman Fawzan Anver, who along with the Principal of Zahira College M.H. Jiffry, Zahira College Sports Council Chairman Tony Amith, Rugby Committee President Riza Abdeen, ZOBRA President Nazeem Gaffoor and Q.P. Equipment Managing Director A.R. Nihamathullah, distributed awards, certificates and medals to the winners.

The organisers also presented a memento to Anver for his contribution to the Zahira College rugby team, the Old Zahirian Sports Club and ZOBRA.
