Alumex receives ISO 45001:2018 certification for Occupational Health and Safety Management, awarded by Sri Lanka Standards Institution
Alumex PLC, has announced its recent attainment of the ISO 45001:2018 certification for Occupational Health & Safety Management, and the ISO 14001:2015 certification for Environmental Management, awarded by the Sri Lanka Standards Institution, effective 9 July, 2024.
These prestigious certifications underscore the company’s unwavering commitment to the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental sustainability. The certifications cover operations at multiple Alumex PLC facilities.
The ISO 45001:2018 certification reflects adherence to rigorous standards for occupational health and safety, ensuring a secure working environment for all employees.
The ISO 14001:2015 certification highlights Alumex PLC’s steadfast dedication to reducing environmental impact and enhancing sustainability practices.
In addition to these achievements, Alumex PLC has also been verified for its organisational-level quantification and reporting of Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Removals based on the ISO 14064-3:2019 standard by the Sri Lanka Climate Fund, under the Ministry of Environment.
This verification comprehensively assesses the company’s operational control business operations, underscoring the company’s commitment to transparent and accurate environmental performance reporting. Alumex PLC Managing Director Pramuk Dediwela said: “The health and safety of our employees and the protection of our environment are integral to our corporate philosophy. Achieving the ISO 45001:2018 certification for our Occupational Health and Safety Management System and the ISO 14001:2015 certification for our Environmental Management System are a reflection of our unwavering commitment to these principles to our stakeholders, customers, and employees.”
