Atlas Axillia recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ECO Spindles Ltd., to reduce plastic waste in Sri Lanka.

Atlas Axillia, Sri Lanka’s leading learning company, has long been dedicated to unleashing the potential of the future generation through its commitment to their well-being and safety. By embracing a sustainable approach to plastic collection and recycling, this partnership reinforces Atlas Axillia’s dedication to promoting health and well-being while advancing a more sustainable and eco-friendly future.

The agreement was signed to forge a partnership focused on enhancing the recycling of plastic waste, preventing its accumulation in the environment, and renewing plastics that would otherwise deteriorate, causing harm to human health.

Together they hope to achieve its goal of recycling more than 1.5 million kilograms of plastic. This initiative seeks to improve the collection and recycling of PET bottles, thereby minimising environmental pollution.

Atlas Axillia Managing Director Asitha Samaraweera said: “Non-biodegradable plastic has become one of the causes of environmental pollution and we believe that by recycling discarded plastic instead of allowing it to get accumulated we can contribute towards a safer environment for future generations. It is with great pleasure that we announce our MoU with Eco Spindles Ltd. This partnership reinforces Atlas Axillia’s commitment to sustainability.”

Eco Spindles CEO and Chief Project Officer Prasantha Malimbadage said: “We are excited to partner with Atlas Axillia, a respected company renowned for its commitment to the well-being of future generations. This collaboration focuses on reducing plastic accumulation and advancing environmental sustainability. We are dedicated to supporting Atlas Axillia’s goals for environmental safety and sustainable development, and we believe this partnership will contribute to minimise the environment pollution while fostering meaningful discussions on these critical issues in our society.”

By championing joyful learning and supporting children in unleashing their potential, Atlas Axillia reinforces its goal of creating a healthy environment through this initiative. It marks a crucial step in educating both children and adults about environmental issues and instilling a strong sense of environmental responsibility.
