Viluxur Holidays steps up wooing Chinese tourists; 2 charters operated by SriLankan Airlines
Nearly 500 Chinese have opted to celebrate their New Year in Sri Lanka with two groups savouring a captivating holiday.
Arranged by Viluxur Holidays, the Chinese tourists from Hangzhou came via two charters operated by national carrier SriLankan Airlines.
The first flight was operated on 13 February with 225 passengers and the second arrived on 20 February with 250 passengers.
A spokesman for Viluxur Holidays said the 13 February charter flight was the first arrive during this year’s Chinese New Year.
The Chinese tourists enjoyed their itinerary covering Colombo, Habarana, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Bentota. Highlights of their tour and Sri Lankan experience included Wild life, local train journey from Kandy to Nanu Oya and nature – Horton plains. The Chinese tourists comprised of senior citizens, middle aged, youth and a few children. They were also treated with a special gala dinner to celebrate the Chinese New Year in Sri Lanka.
