Allianz Partners extends global partnership for travel insurance with SriLankan Airlines

Allianz Insurance Lanka Ltd. and SriLankan Airlines have recently renewed their global partnership. Accordingly, Allianz will continue serving as the airline’s exclusive provider of travel insurance products and services. Now entering its third consecutive year, this partnership reflects Allianz’s commitment to delivering peace of mind to travellers. Through comprehensive insurance solutions seamlessly integrated across SriLankan Airlines’ booking channels – including its website, mobile app, and ticket offices – Allianz ensures convenient and customisable protection.

A special ceremony was held on 11 September 2024, where the two organisations officially renewed their partnership, with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU). The event was graced by high-ranking officials representing both Allianz Insurance Lanka Ltd. and SriLankan Airlines. Signing on behalf of Allianz Insurance Lanka Ltd. were, Chief Executive Officer Prashant Grover, and Chief Distribution Officer Ranga Dias, while Chief Executive Officer Richard Nuttall, and Head of Worldwide Sales and Distribution Dimuthu Tennakoon signed on behalf of SriLankan Airlines. Also present were, from Allianz, Deputy General Manager Thimira Manamendra, and Head of Market Management Kasun Yatawara, and from SriLankan Airlines, Senior Manager Commercial Services and Support Gayan Wickrama, Ancillary Revenue Manager Samantha Perera, and Senior Ancillary Revenue Executive Sandun Anthonisz. 

From the inception of the partnership, Allianz Insurance Lanka Ltd. and SriLankan Airlines have collaborated to address the evolving needs of global travellers. This has been achieved through both insurance coverage that protects against potential travel disruptions, and an innovative customer-centric, feedback-driven approach. From unexpected trip cancellations to medical emergencies, the insurance solutions provided by Allianz cover a wide variety of risks during travel.
