Luxury beachfront resort Amari Galle has been certified ISO 22000 and is the first hotel in Sri Lanka to utilise a fully automated Food Safety Management System, PEx Solution.

General Manager Puneet Dutta said that this investment underscores the hotel’s uncompromised commitment to food safety. “Food safety is becoming more and more of an important factor as it alone contributes to food security, health, economic prosperity, agriculture, market access, tourism and sustainable development. Thus, international standards specify the requirements for a food safety management system, and it is our commitment to not just comply but exceed those recommended standards.”

This system brings the world’s best practices on food safety management in compliance with ISO International Standards, which is a continuously improving process. Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) as well as compliance with Good Hygiene Practice (GHP) are essential food safely management measures that Amari Galle continually maintains.  “Our F&B team takes pride in upholding high standards of food safety and follows very stringent processes to ensure we offer the best possible guest experience. In addition to the technology available through this system, we also run regular manual checks, and conduct systematic and continued education and behavioural trainings to instil best practices in our internal processes. These, with good governance and enforcement, have proven to minimise the potential hazards related to food and its risks,” he added.
