Anantara Kalutara Resort illuminates festive spirit with sustainable Christmas tree lighting and seasonal indulgences

Anantara Kalutara Resort celebrated the festive season in style with a spectacular Christmas tree lighting ceremony and an array of indulgent seasonal offerings. Set against the resort’s breathtaking backdrop where the Kalu Ganga meets the Indian Ocean, the celebrations blended tradition, luxury, and sustainability.

The resort’s lobby was transformed into a festive haven as guests gathered for the lighting of a stunning Christmas tree crafted entirely from coconut husks, a tribute to nature’s cycle and the resort’s commitment to sustainability. In total, two Christmas trees were lit, one of which was made from discarded coconut husks and over 3,500 coconut shells. Standing 28 feet tall, the tree was a labour of love by the resort’s staff, who dedicated over three months of their spare time to create it. The evening featured cheerful carols, visits from Santa, and an assortment of festive pastries, cookies, and soft beverages, offering a joyful start to the holiday season.

The evening concluded with a festive dinner hosted by Complex General Manager Keith Tomkies at the resort’s Spice Traders restaurant. Guests indulged in exquisite culinary delights while connecting with fellow revellers, making the occasion truly unforgettable

This event also marked the launch of the resort’s festive offerings for the season, “Indulgence in the Enchanted Tropics” campaign.
