Aruni Goonetilleke appointed to John Keells Hotels Board from 1 January

John Keells Hotels PLC has announced the appointment of Aruni Goonetilleke as an Independent Non-Executive Director of the company with effect from 1 January 2025.

The Board also resolved to appoint Goonetilleke as a member of the Audit and Related Party Transactions Review Committee of the company with effect from 1 January 2025.

Aruni Goonetilleke is a financial services expert with over twenty-five years of experience in local and international banks. She is a former Chairperson of Hatton National Bank PLC, was in diverse roles at Standard Chartered Bank, Singapore and Sri Lanka including the Head of Credit, Commercial Banking, Chief Risk Officer and Senior Manager Group Internal Audit. She was the Head of Corporate Banking at People’s Bank Sri Lanka.

She is a Non-Executive Director of several listed and private companies in Sri Lanka and overseas.

She holds a Master’s in Law from Harvard University, USA and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo. She was a visiting lecturer in Law at the Faculty of Law and the Department of Graduate Studies, University of Colombo.
