China Art Association President Qiu Xinjian and a 16-member delegation arrived in Sri Lanka last week for a six-day tour of the country.
Their tour consisted of visits to some of Sri Lanka’s cultural hotspots in Sigiriya, Dambulla, Kandy, Hambantota and Weligama, a meeting with Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Minister Vidura Wickramanayake along with ministry officials and a meeting with the Faculty of Arts in University of Peradeniya Dean for discussions on promoting cultural tourism/cultural exchange programs between the two countries.
The visit was endorsed and initiated by Sri Lanka’s Ambassador in China Palitha Kohona and all ground arrangements were organised by leading destination management company Connaissance De Ceylan Ltd.
