Cinnamon Grand wins Silver at National Cleaner Production Awards

Cinnamon Grand Colombo was the only city hotel to be recognised at the National Cleaner Production Awards 2019 annual felicitation ceremony, held at Waters Edge Hotel held on 21 January.

Cinnamon Grand received the Silver Award in the Service Organisations – Hotel Category, being awarded for performing well in resource conservation and carrying out operations in an environmentally friendly manner.

The National Cleaner Production Awards is conducted by the National Cleaner Production Centre to appreciate progressive enterprises that have voluntarily accepted cleaner production as a tool to increase their resource efficiency and at the same time contribute towards a cleaner environment.

The Awards provide a platform to monitor, motivate and reward organisations to make enterprises environmentally compliant, and highlight the important consumption parameters in the production process. Cinnamon’s city hotels Sector Head and John Keells Holdings Executive Vice President Mikael Svensson reiterated the chain’s commitment in being mindful of the impact that day-to-day operations have on the environment, and commended the efforts of the Cinnamon Grand team in achieving this accolade.
