Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts partnered with the British Guild of Travel Writers (BGTW) UK at their awards event held during WTM last Sunday (3). BGTW is a leading organisation of travel media professionals. Launched 40 years ago, the BGTW International Tourism Awards scheme recognises excellence in tourism projects and acknowledges the best in travel writing, photography, blogging and broadcasting. This year’s awards were presented at the BGTW Annual Gala Awards Dinner at The Savoy hotel in central London.

The leading Sri Lankan hotel chain partnered the champagne reception on the evening of the celebration to announce its three hotel openings in the Maldives and Sri Lanka by the end of 2019, which started with the opening of Cinnamon Velifushi Maldives on 1 October, Cinnamon’s fourth property in the Maldives.

At the event, John Keells Group Head of Brand Marketing and Vice President Dileep Mudadeniya stated that the chain will continue its expansion with the opening of Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa after complete refurbishment in the Maldives and Cinnamon Bentota Beach in Sri Lanka.
