Country Feeling Holidays welcomed a group of fully vaccinated 29 French tourists to the island on 6 November under the stipulated safe and secure guidelines.
These tourists were in Kandy for three nights with all major sightseeing and then four nights in Passikudah on a very relaxed beach stay. All arrangements were successfully handled in accordance with the guidelines and despite the inclement weather prevailing that period.
“This was a proud moment for CFH and for Sri Lanka that we managed to persuade this group to rebook amidst tremendously competitive market backdrop. The relaxation of entry protocols for vaccinated travellers was hugely impactful in convincing them to travel. This group was initially planned to travel in May 2020 and was on standby looking for alternate destinations. We are sincerely grateful that Sri Lanka Tourism and health authorities have supported with carefully relaxed guidelines which were extremely helpful to attract this group and more tourists to Sri Lanka since end of September,” highlighted Managing Director and CEO Dilshan de Silva. “We are fully geared to make use of the extended revised guidelines and attract as many French tourists as possible to the destination.”
CFH specialises in the presence in French market as an inbound tour company that commenced operations in 2009.
“These tourists hailed the fluid operation with the formalities at the airport. Hotels involved were incredibly supportive to undertake all arrangements successfully. We extend special appreciation to Earl’s Regent Hotel in Kandy and Amaya Beach Resort in Passikudah for their prominent support. All service providers linked with the tour were thrilled of this achievement at a time like this and were extremely supportive beyond their limits in success of the mission. Moreover, must congratulate the incredible cooperation from the French tour guide lecturer Harindre Kamaljith for his leadership on the field as well as the team of the coach who also contributed meticulously executing their job tasks according to safe and secure guidelines and ensured nothing was compromised that can impact the health safety of the visiting tourists and internally, these individuals are safe and secure certified and vaccinated as well,” added CFH Director Operations Himalika de Silva.
She added: “During a critical time like this, it’s extremely important that industry stakeholders work hand in hand for the success of the rebound despite continuous difficulties and that success can be achieved in grand scale if worked collectively only.”
“With a total of 60,695 tourist arrivals in the first 10 months of 2021, Sri Lanka Tourism earned $ 134.34 million. Sri Lanka is ready for industry revival in the midst of the pandemic and CFH envisions a sustainable approach in line with the projections of Sri Lanka Tourism,” said CFH Director Finance Roshan de Silva.
CFH will continue its endeavours that will greatly motivate French tourists to visit the country and help it reclaim its lost momentum.
