Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) has launched a digital billboard campaign in The Netherlands for the period of September to November to showcase the attractions of Sri Lanka and promote and position it as a safe tourist destination in the minds of Dutch travellers. The digital billboards are placed in the most populated locations such as bus/metro/tram stops, train stations, supermarkets, pedestrian crossings, near the ATMs, bicycle rental places, side-walks, etc. in ‘Randstad’ cities considering the highest net reach.The ‘Randstad’ cities are the busiest metropolitan areas in the Netherlands including Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag, Utrecht, Leiden and Tilburg. Although the Netherlands has a population of almost 17 million, its metropolitan area called ‘Randstad’ has a population of 8.1 million.

Sri Lanka Tourism has identified the Netherlands as an emerging market from which 57,160 travellers were recorded as visitors to Sri Lanka for the year 2018.
