Helitours gets Air Operator Certificate for providing domestic air transport

Civil Air Transport Wing of Sri Lanka Air Force, Helitours was certified by the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) to provide domestic civil passenger and cargo transport facilities after fulfilling the necessary requirements recently.

The Air Operator Certificate (AOC) was handed over by Civil Aviation Director General and CEO Capt. Themiya Abeywickrama and to Helitours CEO Air Vice Marshal Prasanna Payoe.

The entry of Helitours to the Sri Lanka air transport industry will be a catalyst to the national economy through the tourism industry.

The application submitted by Helitous was scrutinised by the Civil Aviation Inspectors of CAASL by considering the organisational structure, availability of qualified and well-trained staff, instruments/ equipment and other required facilities and documents for the certification under the guidance of Civil Aviation Director General and CEO Abeywickrama and the leadership of Flight Safety Regulations Deputy Director General Saman Gunawerdena.
