Hilton opens first DoubleTree Resort in Malaysia

Hilton has opened the first resort-style DoubleTree hotel in Malaysia. The DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Penang is located in the vibrant beach area on Penang’s north coast.

The resort is just 45 minutes’ drive from Penang International Airport and 20 minutes from Georgetown, the island’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed capital, which is accessible via a complimentary shuttle bus service from the hotel.

As the first DoubleTree resort in Malaysia, we are delighted to bring the brand’s warmth and genuine hospitality to the country, as epitomised by the welcome cookie we offer to all our guests,” said Hilton Malaysia Regional General Manager Jamie Mead.The hotel features 316 rooms and suites all equipped with walk-in rain showers, 40-inch LED TVs and Wi-Fi. Many rooms also feature a private balcony with sea views.

Facilities at the resort include a kid’s club, baby-sitting service, meeting facilities, a selection of F&B outlets, a spa, fitness centre and an outdoor pool which features its own beach.DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Penang becomes the first DoubleTree Resort in Malaysia, and joins three other DoubleTree hotel properties in the country: DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Kuala Lumpur DoubleTree by Hilton Melaka and DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Johor Bahru. It also becomes the 50th DoubleTree by Hilton property in the Asia Pacific region.
